Sorry I haven't written or posted on my blog for a while. Somehow I got distracted by computer games and haven't felt all that socialable of late. But hey now I am back I thought I would write a little and let people hear and see what I have been doing and thinking lately.
Hopefully I can find some juicy images and words to percolate through your mind in a warm way like a freshly poured coffee first thing in the morning.
This photo I was particularly pleased with as just before I took it I dropped my camera and thought maybe I had mashed it for good. Lots of dents on the camera body but the camera still seems to function well which is great. This photo was taken looking across Nobby's Beach with the Gold Coast in the background. Lots of beautiful beaches with good surf but you have to be careful not to get caught in any rips.
The Gold Coast is popular with lots of young kids who have just finished high school and want to get tanked and attempt to find someone to have sex with. The preferred nomenclature for such creatures is 'Schoolies' and older guys that try and hook up with these kind of characters are known as 'Toolies'. Anyway one of the young 'schoolie' guys that came up here this year drowned in a rip just down near where those people are in my photo. So be careful if you haven't swum in surf in Australia before just remember to swim between the flags. My dad and I swam on the beach when we where down there and we were getting carried right across the beach even between the flags. But we still had lots of fun.
Anyhow just like the composition of my photo with the people down the bottom gives it a sense of scale and escapism.
