This is a great shot of an antartic beech. This originally grew on Antartica when it was part of Gondwana land as Australia separated and moved north and Antartica moved south. The tree decided to go with the warmer weather. These trees are only found in a few select places in the world and the Mount Warning Caldera rim is one such place.
